Place your advance order for the 2008 Eureka Daylily Reference Guide before you miss the first shipment! We will shut down our advance order processing in about one week so that we can prepare for the massive first shipment of the new Daylily Guide before Thanksgiving!
It's all new each year -- the most new color cultivar photography and the most cultivar registration and market information available.
The Annual Market Guide again features thousands upon thousands of daylily cultivars for sale but this year it's even easier to read. We've enlarged the type size for the second year in a row to make it more convenient for you to see registration information on the plants.
We've also improved the Guide Letters at the top of the pages changing them from a few letters to entire daylily flower names. This makes scanning the Guide for a particular cultivar so much quicker.
You'll appreciate a new Guide in the 2008 Eureka, the Nursery Shipping Dates Guide. Now you'll be able to better plan your orders and your preferred planting dates with the nurseries' shipping dates.
Eureka Reference Guides have an 18-year tradition of publishing the highest-quality cultivar color photography as well as the most up-to-date and thorough cultivar registration and market information on registered plants for sale. Additionally, we have an ongoing mission to improve each Reference Guide EACH YEAR with expanded and corrected registration data from the plant society and new color photographs from talented contributing photographers.
Eureka Reference Guides have evolved into a broad survey of the daylily, hosta and iris worlds. Eureka reflects the trends of the collectors who direct the development of this species with emerging interests and passions. Eureka reports on the value that nursery sellers and cultivar collectors place on cultivars, new and old. Eureka also provides these collectors with the knowledge to make better informed decisions about daylilies and inspires daylily collectors with the best color cultivar photography .
We intend nothing less than to publish the most amazing and realistic photographic compositions that you'll find in any publication. We balance this passion for colorful cultivar photos with our constantly evolving Eureka database of registration information and yearly market data.
Often referred to as the "Daylily Bible," the Eureka Daylily Reference Guide continues to improve with higher quality color for even more accurate flower hues. Over the years, the Eureka reader has come to expect completely new nursery listings and color photographs. Also, we're dedicated to improving the Guide with each new volume.
You will love and find very useful the two-disc 2008 CD Supplement that works with your printed Guide.
The two-disc Daylily CD Supplement is just that, it supplements the Daylily Guide and it does not replace it. The CDs contain additional information not found in the printed Guides and they have the beautiful daylily photography from the Guides in digital formats so that you can load them onto your computer and print them if you'd like to use these images to create your own card catalog of plants in your garden. This is our third year to offer a CD Supplement set to the Daylily Guide and daylily collectors have loved the chance to bring Eureka into their computer with these additional features. Your printed Guided is now designed to work best in conjunction with the unique components on the two-disc, CD Supplement including the Daylily Awards Guide, Daylily Registration Guide, Photo Index and Digital Photos.
Requested for many years, these two CDs would bring to your computer four features that you will find very helpful for your maintaining and planning with your daylily collecting for $19.95 plus S/H for the two-disc set.
We've been asked by new daylily enthusiasts, "Why do I need the latest Eureka when I have last year's volume?" The answer is simple and quickly realized by the experienced daylily collector. It's all new each year! Everything is discarded each year when we begin a new volume. Invaluable to the daylily collector are hundreds upon hundreds of new color photos showing you what the cultivars in established gardens look like in peak bloom. Also, all the daylily listings are discarded each year as the nurseries send in their current list of available daylilies for sale. Not only are the listings new but the registration data has been updated with corrections and changes to the database.
About half of this Guide is daylily information, both registration data and market data. The other half of the Guide is the best color daylily photography available; no postage-stamp sized photos here.
We have listened to cultivar collectors, nurseries and hybridizers to make each new volume more of what you want. You will enjoy this volume if it's your first Eureka Daylily or your 17th.
We feature stunning daylily color from contributing photographers who, like you, love these flowers. We have also traveled around the country capturing the bloom in beautiful color photography at national tour gardens as well as beautiful private daylily collections.
The superb color covers, interior pages and spiral binding makes this both a useful gardening handbook and a beautiful coffee table book.
We have constantly improved each new Eureka Daylily Reference Guide

What can you expect when you order the new Eureka Hosta/Iris Reference Guide?
We've featured stunning hosta and iris color from photographers who, like you, love these plants. Their work sparkles on the superb color covers and color feature pages. The proven new CD format makes this more flexible for your use and more economical.
The book's many useful Guides, such as the popular Annual Market Guides, give you market and registration information on thousands of cultivar price comparisons. You will find this a great survey of the market. You will see cultivars in commercial availability by nurseries spread around the country and be able to track price trends and see who has what irises available.
You'll find the famous Eureka color photography evident and applied here to stunning hosta and iris compositions. Our own Eureka photography fills the pages with clear and artistic photo compositions featuring the registered plants you'll want to consider for your perennial collection. Additionally, we feature contributing photographers and their beautiful photography with page after page of new color photography each year. All the color photos will perfectly complement the pages of data on plants for sale. This data includes crucial Society registration information as well as market data on the thousands of cultivar price comparisons listed by the nurseries in the Eureka Hosta/Iris Reference Guide.
1. The 2006 Hosta/Iris Guide will be shipped as a two-disc CD set. This is not a supplement to the Guide. This is the Guide in .PDF format that you will open with a free PDF Reader program. Once you have opened the file on your computer, it looks just like the book you're used to. Instead of the Guide being spiral bound, it's now a book on your computer screen and you can jump from page to page directly on the CD.
2. You'll enjoy the features that you've come to expect from Eureka now on these two CDs such as the Nursery Ordering Information Guide, the Annual Hosta and Iris Market Guides plus the beautiful Eureka color cultivar photography. Plus, these CDs have the Eureka Hosta and Iris Dictionaries with all of the cultivars ever registered including the official spelling of their registered names, hybridizers, years of registrations.
3. You will now view the entire Hosta/Iris Guide on your computer or you can print your own copy of the entire Guide or just the pages that you want to take with you into the garden. This flexibility makes the Guide much friendlier for everyone's use.
4. This two-disc set costs less than the printed Guide previously advertised. Your must confirm your pre-publication order and tell me if you want to still get the 2006 Eureka Hosta/Iris Guide (now on these two CDs) and receive a refund for your savings. Or, tell us to cancel your order and refund your entire payment. The new price for the two-disc CD set is $17.95 plus $2.25 S/H. (Domestic US S/H)
5. The 2006 Eureka Hosta/Iris Reference Guide double CD set is available for shipment NOW.
Why? You may ask why.
Some people have asked, ÒWhy are you not printing the Hosta/Iris Guide anymore?Ó
1. First, the new Hosta/Iris Guide looks just like the previously printed Guide but on you computer monitor. We are all increasingly moving to online and computer resources for our information. These CDs will merge well with this trend in computer usage among gardeners. The flexibility of the CDs means that Eureka readers can make more choices for themselves and view the Guide on their monitors or print their own copies. Plus, the CDs work well with the Eureka Website making it easier for cultivar collectors to order.
2. Printed color Guides are very expensive to print and require a large volume of buyers to distribute the production costs. The hosta and iris world of collectors and hybridizers combined is much smaller than that of the daylily world. The Daylily Guide has grown annually for 16 years and seems to have a bright future as a printed Guide because of the large numbers. We have subsidized the Hosta and Iris Guides for four years producing them like we have done the Daylily Guide. However, the volume sales have not been growing enough to pay for the printed Hosta/Iris Guide. It is easy to understand when you compare the size of the three plant societies. It's simple marketing math. We believe that the Eureka Hosta/Iris Reference Guide will grow along with the Hosta and Iris Societies over the next few years and we may once again produce a printed Guide for these markets. But we had a critical decision to make since our expenses have been so high.
3. When we talked with Eureka hosta and iris readers and nurseries, we explained that we might have to discontinue the Hosta/Iris Guide. They asked us to figure out a way to continue. The CDs do that.
